Short-Term/Long-Term Disability and Workers’ Compensation

FOR ALL CLAIMS of Short-Term or Long-Term Disability

Follow these steps to adhere to FCPS requirements:

To access you disability benefits, you should IMMEDIATELY notify your supervisor and CALL LIBERTY MUTUAL at 1-800-524-0740 for the following conditions

  • On the fifth (5th) day of an absence
  • If you have been absent for five days in a month for the same condition
  • If you are diagnosed with a serious personal illness
  • If you have an injury or illness that occurred while working

NOTE: Claims filed after the 5th day will be denied, but may be appealed

Short-Term Disability (STD)

After an elimination period of 20 consecutive workdays (or 20 nonconsecutive same condition absences), this plan replaces 90% your income for up to 5 months if you are disabled, and your claim is approved.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

If your disability lasts longer than 6 months and your LTD claim is approved, this plan replaces a portion of your pre-disability income.

Worker’s Compensation

This plan provides medical coverage and, if necessary, partial income replacement if you sustain a work-related injury or illness. The injury must be reported within 5 calendar days. You are eligible once you have completed 7 days of employment.
