Fairfax Education Association has been working to get more funding for public education from the General Assembly as well as the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors so that our students can get the best education possible.
The #Red4Ed campaign has helped to make that happen by sparking debate and action with our elected officials.
Now is the time to use that funding to help our employees.
Please join FEA at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 at the Fairfax County Public School Budget Hearing at Luther Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Rd, Falls Church, VA 22042.
Between now and then, it would be very helpful if you reached out to your local School Board member to tell them that you support living wages for all FCPS employees and you support #20by20.
Our Educational Support Professionals have been underpaid and under-appreciated for far too long. We have educators that live paycheck-to-paycheck and are unable to afford basic necessities in Fairfax County.
FEA President Kevin Hickerson attended the Tuesday, April 9 Fairfax County Budget Hearing and spoke on behalf of our members. Video of his comments is here:
Thank you for supporting our ESPs and other colleagues as we work to ensure they are able to live here in Fairfax County.
