The Fairfax Education Association welcomes you to the 2016-17 school year! We hope you had a chance to get some rest and relaxation in preparation for a great year in Fairfax County Public Schools. We are excited to continue our relationship with you and other members as the premier employee’s union in the county.
We wanted to give you a couple of invitations to events that we will be having over the next few weeks. First, the FEA will have the first Representative Assembly of the school year on September 21 at the Sherwood Community Center starting at 5pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. This is your chance to help steer the union in a direction that you want it to be directed. Come meet your fellow educators in spirted debate and action. (open to all members)
The second event is our annual Put Kids First extravaganza. Last year, we had an incredible time and this one should be no less exciting. We will have food, drink, entertainment, a silent auction, and lots of great kid friendly activities. The event is on September 30 at the FEA office (3917 Old Lee Hwy, Fairfax) and it starts at 5pm and goes until 8. Bring the entire family. It will be a blast! (open to everyone)
I would also be remiss if I did not mention our excellent seminar opportunity, “Keys to a Successful Evaluation”, that will be held at the FEA office on October 3 and 5 at 5pm. This seminar will provide you with strategies and tips for a successful observations and a good evaluation outcome. It’s free to members. Non-members can pay $20 to attend. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
We are excited that the school year is upon us. Do not hesitate to contact our office. Together we can make a difference in the education our students receive in Fairfax County.
